I don't know if i'm missing something but my son was talking to me this morning about this 'heatwave' we are 'suffering' and he said "what we are now calling a heatwave used to be known as SUMMER!".
This made me realise that I am not alone in thinking, what is wrong with the people of Britain, they spend the whole time moaning about the cold and the rain etc; and then after two - three weeks of the very weather they've been complaining about not having in this country, they start moaning and saying they can't cope with the heat, when will it end, we desperatly need rain......ad infinitum!
Only last night I read that an umerella company is having someone do raindances to try to make the rain fall (okay, so they have a vested interest there!) and people are desperate for them to succeed.
Yes, we have had high temperatures and yes, it is hard on the elderly and very young and people wo are very sick and that means that we need to get better prepared for the summers again. You know, carry fans, get cooling systems for indoors, wear appropriate clothing etc.
Make your minds up please people, I know it's hot but what do you expect if you want a summer!
