Auld Lang Syne

It occurs to me that with the Christmas season approaching every sassanach in the world will at some point in the next six weeks sing (or attempt to sing!) Auld Lang Syne.

With that in mind I thought I’d post the lyrics so that more attemps than usual may be successful (if only in words).

Good luck!

Lyrics for Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?
And days of auld lang syne, my dear,
And days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?
We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine.
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne,
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld ang syne.
We twa hae sported i' the burn,
From morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne.
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Cold!!!!!

It is blinking cold here in Hesdin!!!!!

I know, I know, it’s winter!; but it’s not quite December yet and as I have lived my whole life in Luton, England, I’m not accustomed to this kind of weather at this time of year. My only consolation seems to be that if I was still in Luton then I would probably be worse off as the Yahoo news today is telling me that it is so bad there the Airport (yes Luton Airport and no, I don’t want a Chinzano – neither Bianco or Rosé) is having problems along with most of the others.

We do have some snow here in Hesdin but it’s very little and dissapears before mid-day so I know it’s not that bad but last week I was still in tee shirts!!!

Roll on summer!

Lottery Winner Forced To Pay Ex-Wife £2m

What kind of world are we living in when this can happen!

This man bought a lottery ticket and was lucky enough to win and would, I assume, have given some to his daughter ( given that it appears he was of a sufficiently generous nature to have given his old house to his cleaner) and then his ‘wife’ who left him ten years ago for someone else (for whatever reasons) hears about it and starts seeing pound signs!

If the report on Sky News – Online at Yahoo – is accurate, this man paid for her share of their house ten years ago and has been paying maintainance for his child for the last ten years and then greed rears it’s ugly head! would she have agreed to pay him the money if the situation were reversed?; I’m willing to bet not!

What makes the whole thing worse is that the claim is backed by the law in the first place. It may have been an ‘out of court’ settlement but that means that some lawyer advised him that he would lose if he continued to fight the claim.

In my opinion it should not be possible  for one to be open to claims like this when someone is lucky enough to reap the rewards of taking the chance of paying for a lottery ticket in the first place!

Back in blighty!

Here I am again, back in England, just now it seems like I’m on a big piece of elastic! I am back here after only 8 days at home and I’m here for two weeks then two weeks at home then here again for another two weeks! I will be glad when I can jack this in!

Anyway, enough of the moaning! I have just moved into a nice house in the town from the farmhouse we used to live in 8 miles or so outside of town (Town being Hesdin –pronounced Aydan – go figure!) and as you can imagine it’s been pretty hectic so I really didn’t get much of a rest this visit home but, as they say, needs must when the Devil drives. I’ve only been here since yesterday morning and I’m homesick already! Funny, I never felt that way about Luton and I lived there fore 48 years yet I do about France and I’ve only been there 5 years.

It’s Halloween and I’m wondering what my friends triplets are doing tonight, they always come over to ‘Trick or Treat’ and they love to get the unusual English treats we usually have for them; ‘I’ll have to take something back for them! I hope my ‘girls are going to have their usual Halloween bash as  they always look forward to it and Keri does it sooo well for them, I hope it being a ‘school night’ won’t spoil things for them.

I think I may have to read a few other Blogs you know, I have absolutely no idea what should or shouldn’t be in these things. Are they tantamount to an online diary or should every Blog have a ‘storyline( with a real beginning, middle and end format? Who knows, I sure don’t!; so, like I said, I’d best trot off and read a few blogs – purely for research purposes you understand!

Blessed Be!

A brief introduction to me!

IMG_4064

Okay here goes! I am very new to this whole blogging thing so please bear with me as I’m sure I’m going to make lots of mistakes. (Like posting my first Blog before introducing myself!)

Hi, I’m Moria (AKA Marie or Witchealer) and I am a 53yr old mother of three living in the north of France. I have been here for the last five years (having moved from England) and I love it! I have two wonderful grand-daughters and three equally wonderful step-granddaughters and they are what  I miss the most about not being in England.

As you can see from the photo I am into magic and all things spiritual, I am a Reiki Healer attuned to Master level and I make spiritual crafts such as smudge feathers, quills, and Angel/Spell candles and I’m currently in the process of setting up my own company in this field.  However I do work full-time as a carer as well and travel a lot because of this so my posts will probably be pretty erratic as I don’t always have access to the internet when I’m away with work.

Le Cane A Sucre

Okay, here goes! My first ever Blog; Wish me luck!

Having done a really silly thing and gotten another year older (yeah, I know, ageing is never a good thing!) I was treated to a surprise evening out at La Cane A Sucre, and I really do mean treated!  (Thanks again Christelle and Co. for that!)
This little restaurant in the backwoods of The Somme  is BRILLIANT! It is run by an elderly husband and wife team approaching retirement and they only open at the weekend.
They provide a three course set price, set menu, with a cabaret/disco, sometimes this is a guest but often it's just the lovely man who runs it.
The order of the day is eat, drink and be merry.

The owner was a mariner and it shows in the decor, it is literally rammed with memorabilia from the sea! It should be tacky but it isn't! It should be crowded but it isn't despite there only being a little place for dancing (smaller than most peoples kitchens) the visitor is possitively encouraged to let there hair down and have a great time - they even dance round in a circle through the owners house and the kitchen!

I know!, I haven't told you how much or exactly where to go but like I said.... It was a birthday surprise so I'll have to wait for the lovely Christelle Ronco to fill in the blanks for you!! Watch this spot!

P.S. if I've done it right there should be a couple of photo's attached
